Missouri looked like crap, beating Miami of Ohio 17-6.

OSU gave up 35 points to the Rajun Cajuns.

ISU beat Northern Iowa by 1, 20-19.

K-State beat Eastern Kentucky 10 to freakin 7.

KU beat Mcneese State 42-24.

Texas hasnt looked very good considering they are Texas playing Rice.

Of course teams can struggle in the first game, but damn, the Big 12 north is just awful. Hard to tell on Tech because they played Texas State.

OU is far and away the best team in this league.

Last year OU beat Florida State early in the season, 47-17 (you beat Tulsa 47-14 today).

MU squeaked by San Diego State by 3 with a late touchdown last season ("looked like crap" in an 11 point win over Miami (OH) today).

Those early season performances were obviously harbingers of what was to come.

Blaine Gabbert ain't walking through that door...

Especially since OU won the Big 12 title and the Fiesta Bowl last year...

You were better than OU on ONE particular day. OU had the better season, and the better team.

I don't get too caught up in the first game of the year, either. Barry Switzer's teams used to start off notoriously slow, barely beating outmanned teams in early September. While I'd rather be conference champions, Missouri still has scoreboard on us...and any team which has scoreboard on us is likely pretty good.

Even I'm too young to remember when Missouri had as good or better football team than OU year in and year out. It was the 1960s when Dan Devine was head coach. Once he moved on, except for a few years in the late '70s and early '80s, the Tigers were off the football radar. What Gary Pinkel has done over the past five years to make this such a competitive program is remarkable.

Sawyer, I think you guys are going to have a heck of a season this year, and for years to come. I'm looking forward to the challenge of playing you, and glad the game is in Norman. We have your number there. If the game was in Columbia I'd be much more worried.

Bigabd, I hope you're right and OU steamrolls all our conference opponents this year. I don't think it's going to be that easy, but won't complain if it is.

your sec conference didn't look too hot either. LSU had a great win. besides that, meh

Big 12 went 10-0 in Week One...every team except ISU, KU, and KSU will probably be ranked at some point during the season, and aTm and OU should be undefeated when they play each other on November 5th. It's unfortunate that the conference is imploding because this could be an awesome year for the Big 12.

Not to stick up for OSU, but those points were given up when the game was over. It was over at halftime.

Really? I saw SEC teams lose games. Both Georgia and Mississippi loast. Auburn was lucky to beat Utah State at home. Kentucy had problems with Western Kentucky. South Carolina got all they wanted from East Carolina. Tennessee only scored 42 and gave up 16 to D-II team (Montana). Vandy gave up 14 points to Elon Phoenix (I have never even heard of that school). It never ceases to amaze me how Big XII fans bash their own teams and conference. I thought it was a great opening weekend for the conference. The Big XII and Big East are the only undefeated conferences.

If A&M is undefeated come November 5th they could be (and probably should be) ranked as high as #2 in the country. Look at their schedule between now and then:

Idaho
(9)Oklahoma State
(15)Arkansas*
@Texas Tech
Baylor
@Iowa State
(21)Missouri

Yeah, no conference particularly shined this past weekend. No doubt the Big 12 had some underwhelming performances, but that goes with every conference.

Baylor beat TCU. That is a big win for the conference. All other teams won. I think the Big XII shined better than any other conference.

You certainly have a point.

Even if one would disagree that the Big 12 wasn't the best this past weekend, to disparage the conference's performance is laughable at least.

OSU actually scored 73 points in our game. 12 of which just got put on the other side of the scoreboard. The ragin cajuns got their only TD's against the 3rd string and walk on's. That game felt like a scrimmage, tons of line shuffling etc...

The conference has some much tougher games this weekend.

you guys had your 3rd string and walkon in in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th quarters?

What a great game between ASU and Mizzou last night.

Looks like Missouri has their next QB. James Franklin is a stud. But the ASU QB Osweiler is going to be a major star. He has #1 pick in the NFL draft potential.

When all is said and done the Big 12 is going to be very salty this year. OU, OSU, A&M, Baylor, Missouri & Texas are top 25 teams.

Osweiler looked outstanding. He stood in and took some hits while delivering strikes downfield... most college quarterbacks don't do that. That's an NFL trait. That guy's going to be good.
