Lol @ Big 12 football in Week 1

What a great game between ASU and Mizzou last night.

Looks like Missouri has their next QB. James Franklin is a stud. But the ASU QB Osweiler is going to be a major star. He has #1 pick in the NFL draft potential.

When all is said and done the Big 12 is going to be very salty this year. OU, OSU, A&M, Baylor, Missouri & Texas are top 25 teams.

Obviously OU, Okie Lite, and A&M are, and you have a point about Baylor and Mizzou. I don't think Texas is a Top 25 team though. Not yet anyways.

Mizzou is only going to get better the more experience Franklin gets. Glad we're playing them in Norman this year.

Not sure if you guys know this, but Franklin's dad played at OU (Willie Franklin, played there in the early 70s).

I don't see any dropoff with Franklin at QB for Mizzou. He will be every bit as good or better than Smith, Daniel and Gabbert.

I'm not willing to say that just yet, but he certainly won't be that good this year. He is a little raw in the passing game. In time, ie next year, yeah, he'll be pretty salty.

I bet OU rips them in Norman in a few weeks.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Franklin is better than Gabbert in a lot of ways this year. He may not have the arm Gabbert has (few do), and he may never put together back to back games like Gabbert had @A&M and vs. OU, but I do think he'll end up being much more consistent than Gabbert was. We lost multiple games over the past two years (two last year, two in 2009) in which Gabbert was more of a liability than an asset.

Two weeks into the season and only one conference loss. Several nice wins for the conference. If the conference does well this weekend, it is going to have a strong computer advantage come BCS time.

The Big XII is just barely behind the SEC and comfortably ahead of the Big Ten.

If OU wins this weekend and A&M beats Arkansas, I think the Big XII will pass the SEC.

The next thing abd knows about football will be the first.

Not much different than basketball, really.

And that loss was in overtime.

Big 12 is looking legit, as usual.

pfffffftttt

Just watch, the following teams will tank:
KU
KSU
ISU
MU
UT

these two will be both average and forgettable:
TT
BU

Leaving OU, OSU, and A&M as good teams.

I think the Big 12 could go on an SEC-streak (should they not implode), and you would still believe that the conference is terrible.

Someone has to lose the conference. If the conference wins its non-conference games it is going to be highly ranked. I agree that Missouri is not that good this year. I also agree that KSU, ISU and KU are not very good. I think Texas is very average. However, the conference is looking very strong at this point.

The Bigabd doesn't know Sh!t about football. ISU posts a win against Uconn. That is a big win for the Big XII. Lets go KU against Ga Tech and Texas against UCLA.

Of course we all want OU to crush FSU.

This is shapping up to be a huge year for the Big XII. If the conference rolls this weekend a one loss team will play for the national championship. It all comes down to the computers and what happens these first few weeks runs the computers.

The Big XII over the past several years has been no worse than the second best conference in college football. Whoever is third is a very distant third. That won't change regardless of how today or even the year plays out.

Denver while I agree with you on your last paragraph, are you really rooting for Texas to beat UCLA? I hope the Longhorns get waxed.

After 3 weeks, the Big 12 has finished with a nation's best 23-2 against non-conference competition.

Time for the Big 12 detractors to eat some crow. Like it has been for over a decade, the Big 12 is proving to be one of the top conferences in the country. Nowhere near as weak as some on here were proclaiming.

Big 9+1 is really good this year. Don't think we'll be saying the same thing a year from now though.
