Not sure if I read right, but it seems there are those infected with the virus, but they show no symptoms. If true, I wonder how many infected fall into this category.
I have degrees in microbiology and medical technology, and a master’s degree in public health from OU. I am the head of the hematology department at the VA hospital where I work. How about you?
It’s not really worth my time because it’s so stupid, but let me address this.
1. I don’t have any idea who “Jerome Trudeau” is. I assume you mean Justin.
2. Justin Trudeau’s wife tested positive for the disease so he and his wife are self-quarantining.
3. I looked to see if he really did fly in from China today. I could not find a single source that made that claim. I’m genuinely curious about this, do you have a link?
4. There are enough problems here in America for me to worry about. I’m not all that concerned about what is going on in Canada.
5. I stayed home today so I’m going back to Mortal Kombat 11. Lol
So you’re not going to give your theory, just bash people who gave theirs? While also questioning their profession while you still have given none of your “insight”. Way to be a tool.
That just about shut them up on that... Geez, personal attacks because they don't like your facts or logic.
That was going to be my next point... to my knowledge, you are not Canadian, so your interest level in attacking the actions of the Canadian govt would likely be quite low.
People...
Yep, just kind of laughing about it really lol
Make sure you are resting too!

I came in here to say I felt that the country was overreacting (in response to months of underreacting), and said that I'd be back later to elaborate when my schedule lightened up. I was immediately dismissed and mocked, so yes, I can find better things to do in my first day off in almost 2 weeks. Sorry if you were interested in having an educational conversation, but judging by your name-calling, I don't imagine that was the case.
Lets show some respect, please. If you do not agree with an individual's opinion then by all means question it, but some of this is a bit over the line and each of us knows this to begin with, so we really don't have a valued excuse as to why it occurs.. Now of course this does not apply to "abd," but it does apply to the rest of us.

Some of us get personally attacked for taking a day off lol

The vast majority are asymptomatic or display mild symptoms. The odds of this virus being more than a mild annoyance in patients without significant comorbidities is very, very low from what I have seen and discussed with surrounding physicians. Most of the patients that have been admitted to our hospital for "COVID-like symptoms" have actually had a different virus/illness, while the positive tests have mostly been for patients sent home and told to self-quarantine until we can call back with the results.
To develop pictures?

What city are you in?
True, but the spread at this point is the real concern, not the mortality rate. The spread will lead to a stress load on our healthcare system and overload it if not controlled. The mortality rate in the US is well below the global average at about 1.9%, and that is without large scale testing that will explode the number of cases, but not the fatality rate.
But to demonstrate your point, I think I read on the Oklahoma Department of Health statistics that, as of this morning, there have been 10 positive cases of COVID-19 and 174 negatives. That means 174 of 184 people or doctors thought they had the symptoms, but tested negative.
In the Northeast/NYC area. I'm being purposefully vague because I value my anonymity on here.
