I think he put his foot in his mouth and it really was not a positive thing to say when you are still in the recruiting process.

I disagree. Seems to me that Capel is putting his foot down and drawing a line. He's not interested in players who have the "one and done" mentality. I don't believe that means he wouldn't recruit a guy who might happen to leave after one year.

+1.

I think this is a good mentality to have...I dont think OU basketball can afford to take a bunch of one and done players primarily because it is much harder for us to reload then alot of other schools....so we dont want to scare away other real great players simply because they are unsure whether a certain player is going pro or not

Now if we have a set of upperclassman that are good...that would be a perfect time to see about getting a one and done type player

Agree,
What he was saying is that he will recruit the 1 and dones but hes going to get the one and dones, "with something left to prove" Basically, he'll take them if he feels they have intrinsic motivation and dont abide by agendas.

No one can truly say if a kid is one and done are not it is up to the performance of that kid personally i would like to think all my kids could be one and done even if i thought they wasnt i would not verbalize it to the media.I dont care for Calapari, but kids go to his program because his former players make it to the lead and they are impact players in the NBA.
