*** Offical OU vs Coppin State Game Thread***

Pledger won the starting point job and Newell is the backup/combo guard possibly.

If Blair is 3rd team he won't play unless it's a blowout.

wow. after Newell's missed layup, we were back and ready on defense.

the little things people... they make all the difference.

Thompson, six points, seven assists. We don't even have a point guard likely to get seven.

This team's transition defense is like night and day compared to last season. I'm impressed with the improvements I've seen!

Nick looks like the second coming of Renzi Stone at the high post.

yep. this group has certainly been listening to the coaches and executing.

I bet coach is tickled pink.

I saw like 4-5 mental lapses the whole game...and 2 of those were Pledger resorting back to last years' run and chuck offense vice moving the ball and taking smarter shots.

This team is a very significant improvement from last years'.

I like what I saw. I don't know how good Coppin State is. But, we play as a team better.

Yes. I am not concerned with how good we are now. I'm concerned with what direction we're going. After last year, I was worried for Capel. It was getting Quinn Snyder bad.

I like what I'm seeing.

I couldn't agree more! I was hoping to see a team that looked like they enjoyed playing together, and I was not disappointed. I wanted to see a team that hustled back on defense, played smart and didn't make silly or selfish decisions, and I got my wish.

Even if nothing I've said translates into more wins than we had last season, I'm going to enjoy watching this team play.

That's exactly the way I feel; it was actually FUN watching Sooner basketball again.

Nick Thompson will be a really solid player for us for the next couple of years.

Fitzgerald may be a star by the end of this year. He's about half the size he was last year but he's about 3 times the player he was last year.

Not sure I like Pledger and Newell at the point right now. That may be our weak spot this year.
