Softball

I noticed that her degree is in Human Resources. I have no idea of anything about that kind of degree. Does it require a masters to be useful? Can it be used equally in Australia and the US? I have seen that she, despite having a high softball IQ, has no interest in coaching. I had no idea what her plans might be.

Never heard of anyone redshirting in Softball - it might be difficult because Gasso has commitments lined up until 2019.

Human Resources does not need a masters to be useful. It definitely can be used anywhere. It is managing personnel which also means it can be used for coaching.

If she were to redshirt - I am sure that Gasso would figure something out. However, if she comes back by the Texas series in April - I think she would be a key to a championship run. I think she plays this year.

Back in the day it probably would have been a Bachelor's in Business Administration with a major in Management. Some point between 1964 and now "Personnel" became "Human Resources."

Yesterday I read 8 to 12 weeks from Feb 12, that could mean as late as the first week in May. I hate that. Not only does the team need her, but losing a big part of her senior is has to be a huge disappointment for her. Hopefully, it is the 8 week and she comes back fully healed.

Hard to grip a bat if your hand is sore or weak.

The game against Arizona is on Soonersports.com on the radio via Arizona. It also has livestats. Beginning next week, I think all of the home games will be televised on Soonersports.com. I'm not sure that they have a commentator, or just a picture.

Oklahoma 0-0-0-0-0-2-2-----4
Arizona 0-0-2-0-2-0-1-------5

Two-out bunt single
Triple fell between Lauren and right
Ground rule double past Lauren.

The Sooners have had two hits so far, Arizona none off Parker. Chamberlain flied out to right and S. Pendley flied out to center to end the top of the third. No way to know (on live stats) if those were deep fly balls, but it wouldn't surprise me if they were.

The radio announcer didn't indicate that either were deep.

Arizona just tripled home a run in the third on a 100 foot triple.

Arizona just scored twice in the bottom of the third to take a 2-0 lead. They had three hits off Parker, including a single, triple and double. Sooners going to bat in top of fourth.

Five innings in the books. Our offense has been nearly nonexistent so far. Hopefully that will change in the last two innings. We also need to hold them down the rest of the way.

Two outs again.
Single, error on Miller allows runner to go to second
Error on Chamberlain allows runner to reach and runner to score
Hit that bounced over Vest's glove on a bad hop scores the fourth run.

We haven't even hit the ball hard off Floyd, a soph who only pitched about ten innings. Made nine appearances last year.

One out home run to right by Lauren, first OU run. #79.

Bunt single by Shelby, infield single by Miller, passed ball, sac fly by Kady for the second run.
One more chance.

Our sixth looked very promising. We did score twice, but still trail 4-2 with Arizona batting in the bottom of the sixth. If we can hold them, we'll need to score two runs in the seventh to stay in the game.

Those three errors we've made today loom large indeed.

The errors killed us. But, Nicole just hit a two-run home run to tie the score.

Lauren follows with a double
Intentional walk to Shelby
Erin miller up. Ground out on a bad hop.

They caught the bad hop. They also caught a potential home run as Paige led off with a ball over the fence that they caught.
