Back to back two run singles by Vest and Parsons, and OU leads 10-0 in the fourth.

San Diego State had a one-out single to left, their first hit. That's all.

San Diego State came into this game 7-2.

They scored on two singles in the fifth. 10-1 final in a run-ruled game.

Lineup today:

N. Pendley CF
Chamberlain 1B
S. Pendley SP
E. Miller RF
Self LF
Ellis C
Parker DP
Arnold 3B
Hatfield 2B
Vest SS

So, there was a delay in the bottom of the first to repair a hole in right field? The off-season repairs or renovation of the stadium caused problems yesterday. May have cost OU two runs.

Would you elaborate, Syb? By the way, is this game being streamed? By soonersports? I have the live stats and was wondering what was taking so long to get play started in the bottom of the first.

Dang, we've fallen behind early again. Shelby was evidently shaky today. Hope Parker is on. Oh well, let's get our offense untracked.

All I have are livestats as well. Except, you can also go to twitter:

Yesterday, they apparently had a place where the ball was disappearing into some temporary fencing that was around the new field.

Unfortunately, I think Shelby pitching is fool's gold. It is like Georgia pitching last year. I think OU needs to go with Paige and Kelsey. Especially because they need Shelby in the infield with Georgia out.

I wonder if Shelby is capable of pitching against a frontline team. She hadn't pitched until we used her in relief last year. She was supposed to have improved. But, there is a difference between pitching to a St. Marys and a Georgia.

Same opinion, except that I'm still framing it as a question.

Yes, I was stunned when I was at the game at Lafayette when they brought her in to pitch for the first time. The problem is that it is an awful lot of ask of these players to play in the field, hit, and then to work on pitching as well. I agree it might work against St. Mary's but not Georgia or Texas or Baylor.

Remember, they thought Keilani was going to play first when she didn't pitch. It didn't work - DH and pitching was the max. Georgia never could get anybody out last year. It was a failed experiment. Shelby was a necessity last year because all we had was Kelsey. I cringed everytime OU had to play a doubleheader even in the World Series.
