Trae Young's Decision Date has been set

I rarely listen to The Sports Animal anymore, and some of you might actually consider this good news because of the source, but Al Eschbach seemed pretty confident in saying he thought Trae Young was going to Kansas on the air today.

The latest 247 Sports crystal ball has it as a dead heat, with OU and KU at 36% each. UK is at 24%, but I can't see them as a legitimate player now.

No one that I know of has considered the possibility that KU may not be as strong in the race to sign Young as they were at one time, due to all of the negative press surrounding the basketball program. If even half of what is out there turns out to be true, there could be some serious repercussions ahead for the Jayhawks. No one will know for sure until at least three pending investigations have been completed.

If I was in Trae's parents' shoes, I would have to think long and hard before I would give my consent for him to sign with a school where the basketball program appears to be a moral mess that would certainly get my attention: An alleged rape of a sixteen year old girl in the players' dorm, with five players being named as "witnesses," whatever that means; a player placed on probation a few months ago for striking his girlfriend and kicking her in the face; two players named as suspects in a vandalism case, a felony in view of the amount of the damage; a player recently suspended for possession of drug paraphernalia.

That's not the kind of atmosphere I would want my son to be part of the next four years!

I thought the interview with Trae's Dad today with James Hale was pretty good. I think if anyone has an idea where Trae is headed they are wrong. They have played it really close to the vest. Hopefully that interview is up on the podcast page so I can hear it again.

Rayford had a lot of positive things to say about McGusty today, and how Trae would fit in with that group. I think it's still 50/50 with OU and KU hearing him talk.

Well if his Dad is talking that way after the Local Media debacle from a couple weeks ago, I think that's a good sign... but hey, I wear crimson colored glasses :)

I think McGusty and Doolittle playing better down the stretch has to be a positive for him. McG could definitely drive and dish and Trae could space the floor and open the lane for Doolittle.

Someone needs to tell the dude that tomorrow is the 16th so we could get this over with already.

...

@jeffborzello: Bill Self is flying down to see Trae Young today. Young will also visit w/ Oklahoma & OK State once more before deciding, sources told ESPN.

I feel good about things... a little suprised about osu though... hasn't someone here been saying osu was a dark horse?

KU most likely, 2nd is OSU. OU probably not gonna happen now.

OU once had a slight lead, lost it over summer and he was in a wait and see approach for both OU and OSU.

This season hast helped. as far as OSU goes..He was teammates with Lindy Waters, good friend. Likes Underwood and one of the asst coaches. His dad has a good friendship with a former OSU player. Also good friends with Jawun Evans who tells him good things.

Also gets advice from KD who hates OU.

Dad wants KU though. KU is most likely.

KU OSU and OU in that order

if I had to put % Id say 80 KU 15 OSU 5 OU

Lmao.

Dont think osu is in this one but you never know I guess.

Ku insiders are saying ou. Al is saying ku. Rivals ou reporter still believes ou. I thought we were out about a month ago but now I've been pulled back into this. Probably just to have my heart broken but I want to believe!

Trae can be the next national player of the year here. Ou has more than ku all time! Ou has been to the final four more recently than ku! Nothing beats home cooking! Cmon Trae!
