I am really scared that Joe C. is gonna screw this up

I know somebody already said it, and this is coming from a poster who wanted Capel for one more year, but something was so bad that Castiglione fired a guy that he liked personally just two years removed from an Elite Eight appearence. I was actually shocked that he did it myself, but now that it is done, it sounds like there are some solid candidates out there who would be interested.

He better not botch this hire. He can't afford to strike out again.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH!!!!!

Please stop posting the exact same thing over and over. Especially when it holds no water.

It actually does hold water. If we hire another crap coach, our once top 20 basketball program will be a yearly cellar-dweller of the conference.

It holds a lot of water.

it doesn't hold water b/c joe c isn't going anywhere until he wants to

it's not a matter of just Joe. it's a matter of our program. we keep saying this and you guys keep avoiding it.

not what I was quoting.

I didn't read the whole thread but people were saying that joe better make the right pick or his seat would be hot. thats not true

That's not what is being said. You have to go back to the beginning of the thread and read the context of the posts before Sid's and after it to see he was talking about from a basketball program standpoint that Joe can't mess up with this hire. It's absolutely crucial he makes the correct hire.

Sid is the only one I have seen saying Joe C's Seat is hot. But I do agree wtih CoolM that this is more than just about Joe. If the program continues like this it will fall off the map and we will be in NU/CU territory for a very long time

Completely agree with what you guys are saying.

Im talking more about Sid just constantly saying Joe C is on the hot seat if this goes bad. Then avoiding his post like the plague after. If i read it out of context then my bad, but this is not the first time he has said this only to not back it up.

Its not the first time. I try to ignore it as much as possible because if he really thinks Joe C's *** is on the line he must be high as a kite. I just want us to be OU of the Early 2000's not A&M of the early 2000's

I hear ya. Totally on board with ya.

Bob, stop beating your head against the wall. Any intelligent person knows exactly what I meant. Ada wasted his time trying to explain it to those ___s, but to no avail. You can lead a horse to water but .... LOL Also, if there is anyone out there that thinks Joe can do whatever he pleases they are either naive or _____d. Everybody answers to a boss. All you have to do is look at the JC situation.

Cool M,

I don't see why all the Gillespie love?

Yeah, he was a pretty good assistant to Bill Self, but his records as a head coach ain't all that.

Capel's two best years were better than Billy Clyde's at A & M. And what he did at Kentucky was pitiful.

In the whole country, except for Kansas, Duke and NC, Kentucky has to be the easiest school in the country for recruiting. He had embarrassing losses at Kentucky with guys like Patrick Patterson, Jodie Meeks and Joe Crawford (all NBA guys) on his team.

I'd second chance him if it weren't for his FIVE DUI's or charges of reckless driving. It's like giving Eddie or Sean a second chance.

Agreed. Joe needs to make a good hire here. This isn't rocket science.

You have a strange reverance for cheating alcoholics who can coach defense.

I dont believe you just quit or give up on people.

People aren't like milk that you just throw out or bread that might not be "fresh".

I also hold about ZERO respect for anything the NCAA says about cheating.

I bet Rick Greenspan would agree with you.
