I spoke to one of the guys. Nova had been backing off, my guy didnt say why. Then yesterday there was a renewed phone call/text/visit that opened things back up...

Manek will play in the NBA. Guy has one of the sweetest shooting strokes I've ever seen, a very quick release, and is 6'8"+ and athletic.


McNeace has a slim shot, as he does have legitimate NBA athleticism. Not happening for anyone else though.

Manek has the best chance in 3 more years, he's a spot up 3 guy.

Love JM, he may be athletic but he has no offense and is defense isn't all world. A couple of highlite blocks won't cut it in the NBA. Has POTENTIAL but I'll put him at maybe playing D league or oversees...maybe.

That’s the way I see it, too. Manek and Trae are pretty much it right now.

McNeace has shown some potential on occasion, but he hasn’t done anything recently to draw attention to himself. Tall, athletic players with long arms are a dime a dozen in the lower leagues and overseas trying to make it to the NBA. He still has time to prove himself. But he’s not going to do it going scoreless and going through the motions of playing defense the way he has done lately.

If Khadeem gets a shot, it will be by going the D League route or by playing overseas.

Manek's ceiling is pretty darn high.

Once he fills out a bit more he ought to be able to hold his own down low against wings and some stretch 4s.

Keeping in front of his defender on the perimeter is another story... but he has good athleticism, just has a lot more learning to do.

That 3pt stroke from someone standing 6'8" is going to tick a lot of boxes from NBA scouts.

Outside of Trae Young, nobody on this team is close to as good as Willie Warren. WW couldn't make the NBA. He didn't have great size for his position, but nobody on this team does either.

Aren't you also the same person who said a few weeks ago that anybody that thinks this team has a bad defense "doesn't know basketball?"

Just because you're optimistic doesn't mean you're correct.

I am. I stand by that. The style we play does not always look great, but we aren't as bad as people think. Manek will have a great opportunity to play in the league in a few years over 6'8 with the quickest release in college basketball, and shooting over 40%. If odomes continues to develop a jumper, with his defense at 6'6 he will have an outside shot.

There is no way Manek has a shot in the NBA, I read right here on this board when we recruited him he wasn't very good, wasn't ready for B12 ball, was not a real D-1 recruit and was basically a waste of a scholly and Lon needed to recruit better......so now you're telling me Lon knows some things about recruiting message board posters don't?

Make no mistake, losing two top 50 players in Harmon and Wilson would be a huge loss. I would rather see us sign a grad transfer (my preference) or go the juco route than take that chance.

Besides, as far as I know TY has not announced his plans for next season yet. I realize I’m practically alone in believing he might come back for another season, but I wouldn’t rule that out as a possibility. Everyone should know by now thst doing the unexpected has been the norm for him since he signed with OU a few months ago.

Ada, I've had the same thoughts about this as well. It is not a forgone conclusion that he turns pro. I think another year to help him bulk up and get more experience will help him be a better overall player. If he does go pro, then I don't blame him either.
