Lattin Stats

I know Buford and Lattin were put up for it... I think Lattin has the best chance. Buford is a star though

Thanks, Lattin has been putting up crazy numbers for sure... He's been close to a 5x5 a few times.

How are Buford and McNease doing?

There's not much out there on either player. McNeace is listed at anywhere from 6' 9" to 6' 11" and around 200 pounds. My guess is he's somewhere in the neighborhood of 6' 9" to 6' 10". He's said to have a 29" vertical and an 84 inch reach. Assuming he's 6' 9" or better and the reach is accurate, he should be able to block or change a lot of shots without trying too hard.

I found this video clip of an impressive Dante Buford put-back dunk:

If Lattin is playing in some dopey home school league it's doubtful those stats are against real talent.

But he has the size & bloodlines to be a player and at this point Krugers talent evaluation has proven better than the recruiting rankings.

You obviously didn't read this post, or you didn't believe it.

I posted this the other day. I'll repeat it. I asked one of the coaches what kind of competition Lattin was hanging these gaudy stats on. I was told that not every night, but, typically it would be comparable to 5A or 6A Oklahoma basketball.

As an example, the game in Houston the night before we played Texas A&M. Lattin hung similar stats. He was going up against a 6'10" kid that is an A&M signee.

The kid probably has the potential to be a program altering talent.

Still, thanks.

I tried to go through each game that was posted on Twitter and average up some season stats for him so far. Only 19 games were posted that I found and of the 19 there were only 11 games in which his steal, block, and assists were recorded so the numbers are probably not entirely accurate but it's a good ballpark.

With that being said through 19 games his stats are as follows:

PTS: 15.3
REB: 13.8
STL: 5
BLK: 6.7
AST: 5

Like I said probably not 100% accurate on some of the stats but it is as close as I could get with the numbers I found. Either way, those are great numbers.

Ada, a search of google news for Khadeem Lattin returns nothing. Not a single article. If he was playing against real 5/6A caliber programs somebody would be covering the games. We know he plays on a home school team.

Hey bocabull, not sure how old this video is but he does name some of the teams he will be playing you could look them up... at about the 2:55 mark.

Don't shoot the messenger. The assistant told Gary the competition Lattin plays against is comparable to 5A and 6A high school ball in Oklahoma. I'm just as confident in Gary as a good source of information as he seems to be in the assistant coach who told him that.

If you're making that assumption based on the lack of coverage he receives, I'm not sure that's an accurate way to judge the competition he faces. I doubt if the reporters in that area give home school leagues nearly as much attention as the public schools. That's certainly the case here. I didn't even know there was a home school league in Oklahoma until OU showed an interest in Jacob Hammond several years ago.

Ok folks. Here are Lattin's stats from the 2013 AAU games. He's a 6 pt, 5 rebound, 1 assist guy. Very skinny & very raw.

These twitter stats are from church league caliber competition.

Great find, Mac!

Khadeem is an articulate young man who obviously has a good head on his shoulders.

I recognized two of the schools he named, Yates and Bellaire. Both are well known in the world of high school basketball. If Redemption Christian is going outside their league to play schools like those two, as well as traveling to other states to compete in tournaments, he's definitely not just putting his skills to the test against weak competition.

Okc storm is one of the best teams in Oklahoma. They are home schooled church league. Along with Noah. Good call boca

Hey, I played church league ball well past my mid 20's. I doubt that some raw skinny high school kid could have hung those numbers on us.

That is what I figured somebody would find if he did indeed play AAU ball.

NOBODY puts up the numbers Lattin is putting up, does it against top flight competition, and is ranked where he is, and talked about on a national level so little.

I think he is probably better than his AAU numbers suggest, but certainly isn't a guy that is going to come in and be anything more than a rebounder/defender at first. And that is fine. We need that. I do see the upside down the road, but his first couple of years will likely be bumpy.

Here are the highlights from summer 2013 on Lattin. Looks comparable to Bennett. He's got potential but will need some work.

Of course he needs some work. No one that I'm aware of has said he'll come in and start right away, just that he should be able to contribute next year, likely as a back up at first.

As for the Bennett comparison, Lattin is high school senior. One would hope that a junior in college who is four years older is further along at this point. Give Khadeem the current season and the summer to work on his game and mature more physically, and he could easily be ready to compete for playing time with Bennett next fall. If I was a betting man, I would money on that right now.

Didn't look like a program altering talent to me and definitely no goosebumps. Hope I'm proven wrong.

Lattin's a four star recruit with an impressive offer sheet and write-ups in USA Today and Sports Illustrated; so, I think there is plenty to be excited about.
