On the road, you have to be tough (mentally/physically). At times, this team has it, but at crucial times lately.....they simply melt down.

This game wasn't lost because of Trae, but he was pretty bad the last 8 minutes (ran the team poorly and had poor shot selection....again). Yet he wasn't alone, we have guys that can't catch passes, can't hang onto a rebound, and want no part of the spotlight in crunch time. We are just a poor road team right now.

Sounds like a description of the 2016-17 Sooners.

I was just about to post about the FTs, but from a different perspective...

OU went in the bonus in the 2nd half early, like around the 9 minute mark. At that point, OU only had 3 team fouls and I thought that FTs could keep our lead even if our shots weren't falling, which they weren't.

After Trae's three made FT attempts after the Osetkowski foul at the 8:26 mark, OU didn't attempt another FT for the rest of the game.

I know UT doubled Trae a lot but, even when they didn't, he still didn't drive much. In addition, after Bilas pointed out how Odomes kept getting the opportunity to drive to the basket with his left after the weaves, that pretty much stopped too.

I'm sure UT adjusted some on D, but I was surprised we didn't try to draw fouls more when they were in the bonus. We didn't really drive or attempt to get to the basket much in those last eight minutes.

Edit: UT was 13/16 at the FT line after that 8:26 (really 6:15) mark...and a big part of that was that Coleman and Roach kept driving and drawing fouls.

When something we do is working really well, we just seem to stop doing it and reverting back to what we usually do. I thought if we would continue to drive to the bucket they would eventually have to foul or we would get a fairly easy bucket. That should be part of the game plan for every game.

I didn't mention the officiating because we always get hosed in Texas and at Allen Fieldhouse. Just have to play over it.

We lost the game when we had a 9 point lead and didn't score for an eon. Actually we had several instances where we grabbed a 6-8 point lead and let them back in the game. Not good on the road.

I thought Doolittle looked better on the floor, ie defense and positioning for rebound but he is really lost trying to fit in to the offense. McGusty as well.

Odomes coming on strong. Lattin bad game.

Lattin bad game.

Can Lattin and McNeace both play well in the same game? I cannot think of a single time in the past two years, besides in cupcake games which I'm not counting, that both played well in the same game. I'm probably missing a couple, but it seems like one is good and the other is bad.
