Before we throw this team under the bus, remember last year and most of the same players are still on the team...We're better but not gonna happen overnight

Re: >>>>>Oklahoma [16-5, 6-3] vs. Texas [14-8, 4-5] Game Thread<<<<<

We were a team of two halves tonight. Played well in the first and sloppy in the second and couldn't stop them from hitting 3s all game long.

Re: >>>>>Oklahoma [16-5, 6-3] vs. Texas [14-8, 4-5] Game Thread<<<<<

On the road, you have to be tough (mentally/physically). At times, this team has it, but at crucial times lately.....they simply melt down.

This game wasn't lost because of Trae, but he was pretty bad the last 8 minutes (ran the team poorly and had poor shot selection....again). Yet he wasn't alone, we have guys that can't catch passes, can't hang onto a rebound, and want no part of the spotlight in crunch time. We are just a poor road team right now.

this is what keeps bugging me. Lattin, McNeace, James, Odomes, and McGusty should be better in tight games, Young and Manek are freshman and i expect them to have their up and downs but too many experienced guys are not stepping up on the road.

If they let us play NCAA Tournament games at LNC we will be dangerous. We’ll beat this Texas team by 15 at home.

We’ve played pretty well neutral also

McNeace and Odomes played well tonight but at the end of the game, no one played well. When the played Trae tight in the last 4 min, they didn't move to get open and just stood around. That has been a reoccuring theme this year in losses.

Either we get better or say thanks to TY after a 1st round loss in March

Re: >>>>>Oklahoma [16-5, 6-3] vs. Texas [14-8, 4-5] Game Thread<<<<<

He can pull guys that don't block out or play defense..

Trae’s effort on D is a big problem, the team always having to cover for him is getting everyone out of position. They already are not very good on D, but having to cover for him is making it worse.

Re: >>>>>Oklahoma [16-5, 6-3] vs. Texas [14-8, 4-5] Game Thread<<<<<

OU hasn’t had any bad losses this year

Home teams win in cbb

What games are you watching? We have lost 5 straight on the road; West Virginia, K-State, OSU, Alabama, and Texas. 4 of those were blow out losses down the stretch at the end. Those are horrible losses and we continue to play that way on the road, and a coach is paid to figure out the problems.

Re: >>>>>Oklahoma [16-5, 6-3] vs. Texas [14-8, 4-5] Game Thread<<<<<

Hard to win on the road when half the rotation gives you almost nothing every game. Can't believe Doo is still struggling this much after being back for 7 weeks. I know it takes a while to find a groove, but guys do it coming back from injury all the time. It's been a lost year for him and Kam. But if James and Manek don't get their shooting figured out away from the LNC, all the other stuff probably won't matter anyway. All their missed threes today were wide open.

Re: >>>>>Oklahoma [16-5, 6-3] vs. Texas [14-8, 4-5] Game Thread<<<<<

That was a terrible call on CJ. I slo-moed it at home and the Texas defender planted his feet and then drifted a foot.....hope that one doesn't come back to hurt us.

Game-changer

I think Manek is the bigger problem on defense. Lon did make an adjustment tonight, before we were always switching 1-4, but tonight it was only 1-3. If Texas ran a 1-4 PNR, Trae had to fight back to his man. I thought overall the defense was better today than it has been in the past few games, just a few lapses that the elite teams don't make.

It won't happen but I hope the starting lineup becomes Trae, CJ, Odomes, Doolittle, and Jamuni. This would give us scoring off the bench in Manek, and better rebounding and defense with Doolittle out there. And Jamuni is better than Lattin.

We had a chance in most of those games and we should of won tonight. The WVU and Bama games we could of won those games but didn't close. We are a jekyll and hyde team when it comes to playing at home to away games. I thought we would be much better than that on the road.

The only problem is Doolittle is having a rough time right now and I just don't understand it. Somehow he needs to get his confidence back and not sure how you can do that. I don't know if putting him in the starting lineup would help or not. He seems lost and confused.

problem is nobody is stepping up to be a consistent threat at the end of games like Hield had with Cousins and Woodard..Gotta have some other players step up and want the ball in the clutch. If its just gonna be the Trae show than it will be a quick exit in march
