OSU is turrible

Re: OSU is terrible

Almost 7 pages of this thread and not one request to change the title to be:

OSU is turrible

I'm shocked.:woot

Re: OSU is terrible

Just to go back to the root of this discussion. Look at Cambelsville, Eastern Kentucky, UMASS and OSU before Ford got to each place.

I think Ford is a terrific coach...regardless of how things play out for you guys this year. I thought it was a good hire for you guys nearly three ago. I only chimed in because of what was said about my favorite team's coach.

Re: OSU is terrible

That horrible team in Stillwater is just about to beat a top 25 team at home. I don't think we'll do the same this year.

Re: OSU is terrible

Yeah, OSU is real horrible.

Re: OSU is terrible

I have no problem speaking up some OSUx hate as a matter of pure rivalry... but it's pretty hollow.

IMO hating someone just ecause of who they are or where they come from is rather silly on anything but a "play" level. If you actually internalize that then I find it completely idiotic.

I like BASKETBALL (and other sports for that matter). Doesn't matter who is playing for what team or whatever - if they're playing some good ball then I enjoy watching it.

It's not unusual for me to sit in the stands or in a foldable chair and watch pickup games in the gym or down the street.

good ball is good ball and if you can't appreciate that then I think you're missing something.

Re: OSU is terrible

OSU is still not very good. It'll unfold.

Good post and why a lot of non OU posters come here to talk basketball. For the most part this board if full of good knowledable basketball fans.

I'm curious... can you elaborate?

Or maybe explain what you mean by "not very good"...

Do you mean that they won't challenge for the Big 12 title? Won't be in the hunt for an NCAA tournament bid? Will have a losing record?

Losing record? No...the Big 12 isn't good enough to force OSU to lose that many.

IMO (and I'm definitely no expert) I see OSU being just average. When you think of the NCAA tourney this year do you foresee OSU being even a slight contender? I don't. I'm not even sure they'll make it there and if they do, it'll symbolize a downtrodden Big 12.

OSU may have beaten KState today but it's still the same team that beat A&M-CC by only 10, a bad Depaul team by 4, lost to Va Tech, barely beat La Salle, lost to the Zags badly, etc, etc. Up until this KState game, OSU has played a piss poor schedule and lost to the only 2 teams worth a damn.

Basically I've written a lot just to say that OSU is a middle of the road team. I see Kansas, A&M, Baylor, Mizzou, Texas and maybe even KState finishing ahead of them in the league. Save the OSU is better than OU stuff...that's glaringly evident.

Teams don't improve? Teams don't regress? To say one outcome in November defines a team throughout the season is pretty silly.

Sure teams can improve but not typically by leaps and bounds. Is OSU inheriting some better players? I was only comparing what OSU did today versus what they've done up to today. Hohum response.

A contender to make the Tournament? Absolutely.

OSU has an RPI in the low 40s and just beat the RPI #25 team, so will be moving up.

LOL at you pulling games from November and early December to try and explain that OSU is bad.

When a team has as many new pieces as OSU does this year, it was going to take a while to get everyone going in the right direction.

There's no question we played our worst game of the year at Gonzaga, but how many teams go into Spokane and beat them? Not many.

And you left Missouri State off the list, a team that very well may be the 3rd best team we've played after Gonzaga and K-State. They're probably going to win the MVC and win like 25 games.

Basically I've written a lot just to say that OSU is a middle of the road team. I see Kansas, A&M, Baylor, Mizzou, Texas and maybe even KState finishing ahead of them in the league.

OK... well... we'll see won't we.

OSU obviously isn't as good as Kansas or Texas, but we'll be right there with those other teams challenging for NCAA tournament bids.

I see nothing about Baylor or A&M that makes them significantly better than the pokes. In fact, I believe that os-who can beat them both in Stillwater.

We don't agree. It won't be the last time.

The title of the thread is "OSU is terrible". You yourself says that OSU will have a winning record in the Big 12. They may not be world beaters, but they're not terrible.

I don't think even the most jaded OSU fan thinks we are on par with Kansas or Texas.

Terrible? No
Average? Yes
Good? Don't know
Contender (nationally)? No

I view being good as making the tourney. I'm not sure OSU is at that level yet. So I guess I disagree with boca...OSU is not a terrible team like OU is.

I think average is about where OSU is. Maybe slightly above average. In other words jesse is about right.
