This was said a lot circa 1998 about John Blake
if you can't tell the difference b/t the 98 team and this team then

To those claiming Jeff can't recruit, how many times did Kelvin have two players on active NBA rosters at the same time? I can't remember how long Ryan Humphrey played (if you even count him). Pretty sure the NBA doesn't allow players that aren't any good to remain on their rosters.

I wasn't trying to downgrade Kelvin in any way. Just trying to remember if he ever had two guys at the same time. If anything it shows that Kelvin achieved a hell of a lot with less talented kids. Quit taking it like it is a Kelvin bash. I realize you want a new coach. I realized about four hundred effing posts ago. Quit shoving it down everyone's throat on every single thread. The greatest thing about this board has been the good conversations about basketball. Unfortunately now that we are struggling, those conversations are gone.
Kelvin had one guy end up actually playing in the NBA and he is still playing. That's what made Kelvin's run here even more incredible.
Totally agree. Didn't he recruit Taylor?
I mean this in a nice way, what would you want to discuss positively after a 7 game losing streak?
I believe so. I guess you can throw in Taylor but I can't recall if he ever got to play under Kelvin.
The saddest part about this whole season is that there have been some guys that have really improved. This gets swept under the rug because we are losing, but that doesn't change that fact. This improvement can only help for next year. It would be nice to at least acknowledge that fact.
I just don't understand how most on here would've predicted no more than four conference wins, if they were being honest. We have a chance for six, yet all that is ever discussed is failure. If we were able to win these last two games, no one in their right mind would consider that a failure with the guys we have on the roster. I realized there are reasons for this roster, but that has been discussed. That's all. Enjoy the rest of the season.
What I have a tough time dealing with is the fact that the LNC is becoming half empty on a regular basis and we now have opposing teams fans out numbering us on our own home court! That's what makes my blood boil the most outside of all the other issues we currently have.
we scored 70 points today.
Wait, didn't you write in another thread, "Capel shouldn't get two more games"...solid post in reply to me though. As untrue as it sounds, I'd rather talk x's and o's all day over coaching firings. It's almost like we're hoping to lose now just to usher in a new regime. I've been a Sooner fan since I've touched a basketball and this is just upsetting and feels surreal.
This season has been a failure because OU is one of the worst teams in the big 12. I don't care if it was expected, OU deserves better. Losing is not acceptable at the University of Oklahoma.
