OU vs WVU 830pm CST ESPNU

Absolutely ridiculous effort. But if you saw our road/neutral record, you could almost see this coming. Losing twice this season to this WVU team is inexcusable. It's a good thing we beat KU, and got TCU and UT minus a couple of their best players, or we'd be sitting home next week. As it is, we'll probably fall back to the 10 line, which means a 1st round win is probably not happening.

Still think the program needs a change, but I also know that isn't going to happen in the next year or two. Too bad. The longer Lon coaches, the more our program will continue to fall.

OU has one of the better road/neutral records in the country

We're 1-8 (I believe) on the road or neutral site against teams projected to make the Tourney.

Beating up on RIO and UTSA on the road isn't something to be proud of.

It is fitting that a juco transfer from a few hours away in Texas absolutely destroyed OU in this game...

14 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 blocks for Jermaine Haley...

Next year WVU is going to be insane good... Huggins knows it too. Starting Culver and Konate, and they have the #22 overall player coming in who is a total beast. Huggins said he is the best rebounder in the country. Between Culver, Konate, Tshiebwe (who is the beast), and Hailey... probably the best front-court in the country, and surely in the Big 12.

  • C: Derrick Culver (all big 12 talent)
  • PF: Sagabe Konate (all big 12 talent)
  • SF: Jermaine Hailey (averaging 18.6 ppg, 7.8 rebounds, and 4 assists per game over his last 7 games.. Light bulb has come on for him)
  • SG: ?
  • PG: Jordan McCabe... Was forced into action early because of players being booted off the team, but has done well in conference. Was Mr. Basketball in Wisconsin coming out of high school.

They will probably sign 1-2 more to play shooting guard... They have some role player guys but they have 2-3 spots to fill late in the signing process and are recruiting the jucos hard.

I am just hoping that Lon can achieve a 9-9 (.500) record in the Big-12 next year. At this point in his career, that would be a huge achievement.

OU will finish higher in the Big12 next year than WVU

I will take that bet.. No chance. WVU will be #1 or #2 in the league next year.

This might be a good idea for a new thread -- everyone can start predicting how many teams will finish ahead of us and say who they think will win the league. We can already be confident that Iowa State will get a lot of votes. :)

Do you prefer to vacation in Gog or Magog?

WVU potentially has 3 players who would be our best player next year... Yea, its that drastic.

this is funny

You don't understand.... Oscar Tshiebwe is a total freak. He is being added to Culver and Konate.

Konate (6'8'' 260)
-Averaged 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 blocks per game. Had 116 blocks last year.

Tshiebwe (6'8'' 240)
-#22 overall player... 5 star recruit. Dunks with ease. Extremely strong. Recruited by everyone. A truly elite prospect. Crazy high flyer... Best rebounder available in the class.

"Tshiebwe is arguably the hardest playing prospect in the 2019 class. He’s tough, physical and doesn’t take plays off. Tshiebwe’s biggest value is in his rebounding, as he consistently goes to the glass, pursuing the ball with both hands. His motor seems to be endless and his brute strength is tough for opposing players to deal with at this stage."
-247sports

He averages 25 points and 21 rebounds per game this year in HS.

Derek Culver (6'10'' 255)
-True freshman this year. Averaged 12 points and 10 rebounds per game as a TRUE FRESHMAN. Double-Double average... Are you kidding me? #1 rebounder in the league.. #1 offensive rebounder.. Still averaged 12 ppg.

These guys are going to man-handle people next year... They will have good wings and guards too... but athletes like this, especially on a Bob Huggins team... They are going to be insane good.

all 3 of those guys play the same position

Konate and Culver will start, and the freshman freak will come off the bench. Is my guess... Unless the freshman guy is just too good to keep off the floor. Either way... there is a chance that all 3 of those guys are OU's best player. The point stands.

Should Chris Beard be fired? Can't believe he didn't call a timeout to draw something up, instead he lets Culver shoot a 25ft contested 3. It's like he's not even invested in the game. WVU is the worst team in Big12 history.

Huggins, on the other hand, has won as many Big XII tourney games in the last 2 days as Lon has in the last 10 years. With a 10 seed.
