Paige pitched another perfect game. 10-0 in five. Lauren hit a three-run home run to end the game. She also had a bases loaded double, six rbis on two hits.

Paige and Whitney Ellis also had home runs.

Lauren hit #81 to give Stevens a 1-0 lead against Samford. A line drive to right.

Shelby isn't playing due to an injury.
 
I don't know. They said at the beginning of the soonersports broadcast that they had mentioned it in the pre-game show. But, either I tuned in late, or the broadcast began after they mentioned it.
 
What I heard was she got hit in the face with a ball this week and had one eye almost swollen shut. Will be ready to go next week.
 
Paige recorded 10 strikeouts as the Sooners beat Samford 14-0 in 5 innings. Erin Miller has been on fire.
 
Off day for Paige. She pitched a shutout, but allowed three hits.

Erin Miller hit a three run home run in the first. Until her last at bat, she had a seven at-bat streak that had two home runs, two triples, a double , and two walks. Then, she struck out last time up.

Hatfield had a grand slam.

Lauren hit #82 and #83, both to right.
 
6-0 after one in the second game. Wodach hit a three run shot, and Vest hit a solo home run.
 
Nicole Pendley and Erin Miller both hit two-run home runs in the third, 11-0. Stevens has enough support.
 
We are hitting .376 as a team with a slugging percentage of .644 and an OPS (on base percentage plus slubbing) of 1.117.

We have 11 players hitting .300 or better, 10 slugging .500 or better and 10 with an OPS of 1.000 or better.

we will not do this well in conference play and some who have hit well will not do well against the tougher pitchers. But we have a strong offensive team and Parker and Stevens seem to have hit their stride in the circle.

Don't know if either are dominating enough to win duels from the elite pitchers.

I do believe we have a shot at winning it all again.
 
I don't get excited about beating the Samfords of the world 11-0. When we get to the tournament, they won't be there. I look at what we do against maybe the top forty teams, really the top twenty-five. You have to hone your game against them.

It is fun to face the weaker teams this year simply to provide fodder for Lauren's run to the record. You don't hit two home runs per game against top twenty pitchers. After she gets #91, I would rather they play against Stevens and Parker in practice to get ready to face good pitching. You really need to have the bottom of the order hitting good pitching to win it all.

I think we have a chance. I think the top of our lineup is probably the best in the nation. We still have a couple of weak spots to shore up down the order. My primary concern is really the fact that we did not field bunts well in that last tournament. We have to get that down.

We'll know more after we play Baylor and Kansas.
 
One of the players said in an interview that they practice against Stevens and Parker and the rest of the staff.

OU has already played teams (Arizona State, Washington, Georgia, and Kentucky) that are better than Baylor and Kansas. Kansas has played one tough game (Florida) all season and got waxed. Baylor has lost five games including getting shut out by North Texas and losing to Pacific. Baylor got run ruled by Michigan 11-1.

OU has a tough series in a couple of weeks at LSU.
 
National rankings are out! As a team #Sooners are 2nd in R/gm (8.71), 3rd in OBP (.473) & SLG (.642), 4th in AVG (.376) & 8th in HR/gm (1.57

@LChamberlain44 is 2nd in the NCAA in SLG (1.235), 3rd in HR (11) & RBI/gm (1.84), 4th in HR/gm (.58), 7th in RBI (35) & 8th in OBP (.644)

Also, @erinmiller48 is 3rd in the NCAA in triples (5) and 8th in triples per game (.24). @paigeparker008 is 7th in shutouts (4).

11-0 after one. Nobody had scored over 11 against Iowa. One team scored 11, and Iowa won 12-11.
 
OU scored five in the second and five in the third to take a 21-2 lead over Iowa after three. Lauren hit #84 in her fourth at bat. Shelby followed with a HR.
 
East Carolina 0 Oklahoma 9 after two. Lauren hit #85, a two-run shot in the first. Shelby went back to back with her. But, Shelby got another in the second, a three-run shot. Today, Lauren has two so far, Shelby has three. Since Nicole has one, the top three in the lineup have had 14 hits, six of which have gone out. That is in six team at-bats.
