'24 Coaching Carousel Thread

Stop. That isn't how it works. Not everybody wants to coach at UK. Guarantee it's not zero. 100%.
Hurley, Self, Izzo … there are definitely coaches who wouldn’t leave their current job for Kentucky. And I don’t see it as the top job in the country.

I think Arkansas can do better if they bankroll someone else with $5mill NIL. No one has done less with more in basketball than Cal
its crazy to think of all the players he has coached and only has 1 national title, Dean Smith also had lots of talent wasted but at least he won 2 national titles..

UCLA won like 12 in 13 years or something like that. Probably kept Bobby Knight from winning more than 3

Not surprising considering there was support to fire/move him to another position at the end of the season. Ultimately, it was the AD that decided against it.

But still shocking they wouldn't want to retain him without another quality coach ready to go. Unless they have someone in their sites or, they feel this is the way out of the buyout which is inevitable if he stays. Or maybe a combination of the two.

Either way, Cal may not be the coach he used to be, but with the excitement he can generate for a program, and ability to recruit at a high level, he's still an 'effin good coach.

Cal deleted his goodbye video. Probably due to the quality (super blurry).
