*****Oklahoma vs. Coppin State Eagles Game Thread*****

I may be wrong, but I don't think we're going to see as much of Newell as everyone thinks this year. Once the competition gets tougher I think we'll see less Newell and more Blair and Grooms on the floor together. Newell just doesn't create for anyone but himself right now. Until he can do something other than shoot it every time he touches the ball I don't think he'll see more than a couple minutes a game.

Edit: Newell played better with the starters because he doesn't have to create. He's not the guy to carry the second unit right now.

That's more than Blair brings. Blair can't make a shot to save his life.

Didn't play good the last 8 minutes. I didn't like the last couple minutes when we basically had Grooms and a bunch of guys with no offense. But once Newell came in we got some offense there at the end. But we played awesome the first 10 minutes or so.

Agreed. That first ten minutes was the best basketball I have seen an OU team play on both ends of the floor in sometime. Our full court pressing defense and half-court traps gave Coppin State fits.

I like how every player on the floor was involved in the offense, too. Spacing was good and no one was standing around looking dazed and confused. This team has come a long way in just one week.

Blair is 2 for 2 tonight, both of them three pointers. What are you talking about?

I'm going off last year. I can't see the game in KC and it's killing me.

I hope he continues to prove me wrong. I won't complain!

He looks much improved this year, to me. Wouldn't call him an offensive star, but I think he can be solid in a supporting role. Mostly a catch and shoot guy right now.

I was about to ask if you were watching the same game the rest of us were seeing. lol Aside from a couple of turnovers, Blair played really well in the first half.

Yah telgraphed a couple fast break passes.

I'm liking what I'm seeing out of Osby. I hope he keeps up this level of play against tougher opponents.

Really good ball to start the 2nd half. Pledger has 15. OU's up by 31.

Pledgers starting to shoot the lights out!

Honestly if you are really complaining about how this team is playing today you are complaining too much. This is about as good a game as you've seen from a Crimson and Cream team in a long time.

CAM CLARK JUST ENTERED THE BUILDING!
