They just played bad the last 12 minutes or so. Very sloppy on offense and the defense was about as bad as it's been all year.

Me, too. Our defense looked better in the last two games. It's definitely an area of concern in tonight's game so far. Hopefully they'll come out ready to play in the second half.

Some of our bad defense is a bi-product of playing helter skelter on offense. If we are continually running down and jacking up shots without any movement or flow, then you usually see the same lack of organization within our team defense....it almost always goes together. Even when our shots were falling earlier, I was thinking we need to slow it down a notch and not just run down the court and force it. It turns into "streetball" and that usually favors the underdog.

Who was playing point?

Cousins was playing point, had a couple of sloppy passes and one time he got picked as soon as he made it to half court.

When Cousins was in, the offense was frantic which was leading to easy buckets the other way.

Going to the 1-3-1 has helped prevent the dribble penetration. Edit: I should probably say it has reduced it so far.

I agree with what spence was saying above ^^ about our D being disorganized with this offense ... so time and xp will aid it somewhat. I'd like to see it more active, maybe matchup at the top of the key ... something because we get smoked by decent outside shooting and we don't have the muscle inside to make that our strength.

I know coach has a method to his madness. I am just a little impatient because this group has a chance to be solid and they play fun ball.
