2019 Recruiting

You said OU should have no problem getting 6 quality freshmen and have a good season bc Kentucky does, my point is OU can't compete with those types of teams if you're mainly relying on high impact freshmen. Of course some freshmen will help (Young & Manek) but I've never seen OU have a good year with most contributors as freshmen, that's why they need some balance in the classes.

I don't believe that's what I said, but if it was, that wasn't my intention. Getting 6 quality freshman is a difficult task for just about any school, and I certainly don't think we'll have the kind of success UK has in year one. If we can, however, get 6 quality freshman, I'm all for it. My only point in bringing up blue blood schools was to show that true freshmen are consistently contributing to championship caliber teams. We won't have a championship caliber team, so there's all the more opportunity for them to contribute. Unlike teams like UK, we won't be all or nothing with our freshmen. Most of them, if not all, will be back.

Even at OU, we've had significant contributions from freshmen on most of our NCAA tournament teams over the past decade. Whether it be Young and Manek last year, Blake, WW, Buddy, Woodard, etc. I might be wrong on this one, but wasn't Lattin a freshman on that final 4 team?

Lattin was a soph, but Christian James contributed that year as a freshman

"Triton College 6'5" Combo Guard Alondes Williams will be taking official visit to Oklahoma starting tomorrow. Head Coach Lon Krueger flew in this week to watch Williams."

They must really want this kid

I’m not seeing it, but what do I know. 🤷🏻*♂️

I’d rather have Etiene, but maybe he’s not interested in OU anymore.

to me this part is important. you dont want half the team leaving at once.

Important but still want talented players. Hes the leading scorer on the JUCO national championship team.

Etienne will be in Wichita this weekend for his official visit. Local paper says WSU is making him a priority. The article commented on his athleticism and competitiveness.

Looks good.. Why do you think he has such a small, unimpressive offer list?

i dont know. You know Lon. finds those diamonds. Not going off some guys rankings that never played in a meaningful game...

So are we passing up a possible Scottie Reynolds type of player (Etienne) for a JUCO guy?

What makes you think we are passing on Etienne? I haven't read/heard anyone suggesting that we have backed off him In fact, we were his first official visit, with WSU being his second.

So my guess is the staff is confident they are getting a commitment this weekend.

Just saw Kruger, Hartman, McNease, and I would assume Williams at Red Rock Canyon Grill in Norman.
