2019 Recruiting

Here’s another highlight video from last year.

There’s a lot to like about this kid. He’s a superb athlete with natural instincts on defense and a scorers mentality on offense. He plays bigger than his listed size, plus being a lefty makes him.sneaky good st blocking shots. My guess is OU will not be his last high major offer.

I could see one or 2 pulling the trigger soon.

We’ll see though

The only thing I don't like on thst video is there are several clips where he misses the shot, misses a dunk, doesn't finish, etc. There is a clip of him missing a three...why even put that shot on the highlight?

As a college head coach, I got a video that was about 3 minutes long of a kid sent to me one time who was a "shooter".....kid had great form and yhere were about 50 clips of him shooting 3's on the video....not ONE shot did it show him actually MAKE a three...it would show him release and then go to the next clip before you saw the shot go in. What the heck???? LOL

This has nothing to do with OU, but a kid has to be really good to get a scholarship offer from a Power 5 team. My brother has a nephew (wife’s sister’s son) who was the 2017-2018 New Hampshire Gatorade player of the year: Max Bonney-Liles. He averaged 21.3 ppg, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals per game his senior year, but doesn’t have a significant D1 scholarship offer. He’s 6’4” with good hops and shoots 85% from the free throw line and 50% from the field. I suspect he just isn’t quick enough.

This is a junior year video: https://www.ncsasports.org/mens-bas...re/hudson/alvirne-high-school/max-bonneyliles

How does he like that NCSA company? I concluded it wasn't worth it vs. Just going to camps ect.

Not everyone needs help in recruiting but for those that really do, you could spend anywhere from $200-500 going to one camp....and get seen by one staff.....or spend a little more to have access to a bunch of staffs.
A company like that should never be your only time/money investment in the process but it could help tremendously if you use their tools and put a little work in and don't go into it thinking "its D1 or nothing", which a surprising number of kids and parents do.

Just my opinion.

Still waiting for someone to jump on board with Kruger and Harmon...5 or 6 spots left, and haven't had a commit for 2019 in almost a year (whenever Harmon committed). Kind of amazing to think about. I know I will get ripped for my take, but I'm entitled to it, just like I know you are entitled to rip my opinion.

I still think we are fine... just filling depth at this point.

Harmon, Bienemy, Reaves, Manek, and Polla... you've got a starting 5 right there already. Shooters, scorers, rebounders, size... It has it all assuming Polla develops.

I see no reason to be concerned. Harmon committed earlier than most recruits. It’s rare for a high profile recruit to commit a year or more in advance of the signing period, even rarer for one to stayed committed so long. Oh, Harmon is not the only commit in our 2019 class. Don’t forget about Wichita State transfer Austin Reaves, an outstanding use of one of our scholarships.

The start of the early signing period is November14th. While it might be nice to have our 2019 class put to bed three and a half months early, I’m not the least bit worried that we have some open spots to fill. The top recruits who pretty much have their choice of schools don’t have to jump on the first offer they get. I’m fine with that. Now, if we are still in this position in mid October, I might start to worry.

I'm not too worried until the main targets start committing elsewhere. As far as I know I don't think any of them have committed. Chase Hunter, Samuel Williamson, Drew Timme, Jourdan Smith, Jaden Mcdaniels, & a few more in sure I missed.

Don't forget Kur Kuath... who is redshirting so can basically considered a member of the 2019 class.

Ou offers Chase Hunter... month or so ago... He was very limited on offers... Here come the big dogs... Mich St

Blew up on the circuit

Yep. Ou was early on a lot of these kids.

Harmon and bridges(football wr) families are recruiting for OU HARD!
They want Malik hall, timme the most.

Malik and tray Jackson both are sunrise kids.

Who cares if the big dogs are starting to call. If they're good players, that should happen. This is OU. I'm looking forward to Lon and staff scoring some nice recruiting victories...
