From another site have been informed that Manyang is still a go for OU next year and nothing regarding his leaving the Indian Hills team for "personal reasons" will affect him with OU currently.

At this time he will still be in Norman.

Kruger was on with Eschbach earlier tonight. He says Manyang is about to return to action for Indian Hills, but didn't elaborate on the situation.

@justinmhite: #Sooners hoops signee Akolda Manyang expected to return to practice Wed, according to IHCC spokesman. In good academic standing w/ school.

Good for him! He doesn't have to play basketball to be eligible to go to OU this fall. I just think it would be best if he continues to be part of the team and get as much experience as he can this season.

Good he's eligible still but I guess I don't get all the hype for a player who's avg 8.5ppg and 5.7rpg in juco.

I don't really expect him to contribute much next year

You like stats?
Akoda has only been playing 15.2 minutes per game.
With 86 blocks in 31 games, that works out to over 6.6 blocks per 36 minute of playing time per game.

Rebounds work out to 13.6 per 36 minutes.
He started at Indian Hills but they're deep enough and are leading by enough when he's in that the bench gets plenty of run.

If they were short of subs Manyang could easily be averaging 20 points and 5 blocks per game. Right now we're a pretty good shot blocking team. Next year, if Manyang shows, Lattin puts on 15 pounds and McNeace shows up like he's been practicing we may be best shot blocking team we've ever been.

In front of a lot of nba scouts too. Which was a good time for Myles Turner to show up so he will be 1 and done. haha.
