ESPN College GameDay Headed To Oklahoma
February 06, 2016

For the second time in three weeks, ESPN's College GameDay covered by State Farm will originate from a Big 12 venue. The show has announced it will visit Norman for the matchup between No. 1 Oklahoma and No. 7 Kansas on February 13.

Two weeks ago, the show broadcasted from Lawrence for the Kentucky at Kansas game on January 30. It marks the second all-time visit to Norman for the program. The one-hour morning show begins at 10 a.m. CT on ESPN, followed by an afternoon edition leading into the game telecast starting at 1 p.m. CT.

The Big 12 contest, scheduled to tip off at 1:30 p.m. CT on ESPN, is a rematch of the Jan. 4 triple-overtime classic when KU outlasted OU 109-106. The game has been announced by Oklahoma as a sellout.

Doors to the GameDay show will open at 8 a.m. CT and admission is free. Standard bag checks and security protocols will be enforced upon entry. OU students should enter through LNC’s lower north doors, while general fans should use the east and southeast Legacy Court entrances only. All fans will be required to clear the arena after the conclusion of the GameDay show.

ESPN College GameDay Covered by State Farm is hosted by Rece Davis, who will be joined by analysts Jay Bilas, Seth Greenberg and Jay Williams. Dan Shulman, Bilas and reporter Shannon Spake will have the call of the game.

GameDay also made a stop in Norman on Jan. 28, 2006, when the then-No. 24 Sooners hosted then-No. 4 Texas. OU won the game, 82-72.

For the second straight season, the College GameDay sites are being announced one week prior to each show, ensuring visits to sites of top storylines and games appearing on ESPN networks each week.

Since it is literally hours before tip off, do you have to have game tickets to get inside and watch it?

No. It's free. Once it's over, they will clear the gym to get ready for the game. Will reopen 1:30 before game time.

Thank you, KB. I was hoping that was the case. I have more kids than tickets and thought it might be a fun experience for them.

Anyone know how they will handle students for this? My daughter goes to every game and her group plans on camping out. Her concern is if they go in for Gameday then they will lose their spot in line for re-entry when the game starts.

Seems to me the diehard fans that want to get good seats for the game might not attend Gameday if they lose their spot in line.

It seems to me that students could contact the OU athletic department and get an answer to this question. It is always best to go the the authorities, and get it from the source.
