What people complain about is open looks from the outside. Do they keep stats for that?

We have the ability to beat anyone in our conference. Yes, we need to clean a lot of things up first. I am probably more worried about falling asleep against those we should beat.

Trey is a spot up shooter and a fr
Hill is a rebounder and that's it.

Granted X was on fire but our def pressure sucked period

My biggest disappointment is that this is pretty much the group of guys from last year, and the defense has not improved with experience. Yes, X had an incredible shooting night, but for most of the game the defense a step behind and having to react to what the offense was doing.

I'm with ya....we really haven't been that bad at defending the 3 over the last several seasons.....about middle of the road. However, it really seems to be glaring when we lose....like tonight.

to me...it starts before the ball even gets there. Look at how X def the perimeter against us....we had very few open looks...hell even very few clean catches. They were in our face all night.

We ran around trying to catch the guy with the ball..

They are much more athletic than we are on the perimeter....specifically, they have length we don't. This is in no way a criticism, but Harmon and Gibson are just small and don't have the length compared to guys like Scruggs, Odom, and Johnson. Length, to go along with good speed, really helps on defense.

I think eventually we’ll be a pretty good team. I think tonight was just a throw away game. One of those nights. It’s sucks, but it won’t matter in the grand scheme unless we keep repeating this type of performance.

2019 - 33.3% (#109 out of 353 teams)
2018 - 36.2% (#240 out of 351 teams)
2017 - 36.5% (#262 out of 351 teams)
2016 - 33.7% (#119 out of 351 teams)
2015 - 31.7% (#53 out of 351 teams)

that doesn't bode well...in my humble opinion. Granted I haven't watched anyone else in the b12 but seeing top 5 teams ranked...and we just got hammered by a non ranked team...

not writing the season off...but I just don't see many night in night out guys...besides Manek, Reaves and Harmon..but even they had off nights tonight. If one of them or more are off we are in trouble.

It's a season...long or not. I'll watch and cheer.

Don’t know which we beat but I believe we will beat several of them picked ahead of us. We have plenty of offense and the D will get better.

Don’t let this game bug you. We beat Nova by 23 early in the 2015-16 season and we saw what happened later. I realize it is apples-to-oranges but we will be much better than the team we saw tonight.
