QUICK PREVIEW
In a three-way tie for second place in the Big 12, No. 25/25 Oklahoma (15-4, 4-2) travels to Lubbock, Texas, to take on Texas Tech (10-9, 2-4) on Saturday at 3 p.m. CT at United Spirit Arena. The Sooners, who have won three of their last four games (two of those wins came against top-12 opponents), are coming off a 77-69 home triumph over TCU on Wednesday. The Red Raiders are 8-3 at home this season and are coming off an 87-81 loss at West Virginia on Wednesday.

ON THE AIR
Saturday’s contest will air on the Sooner Radio Network (KRXO 107.7 FM "The Franchise" in Oklahoma City; KTBZ 1430 AM in Tulsa) with Toby Rowland and Mike Houck calling the action. The game will be televised by the Big 12 Network (KOCB Channel 34 in OKC; KMYT Channel 41 in Tulsa; WatchESPN) with Brad Sham and Stephen Howard announcing.

THE SERIES
Oklahoma owns a 33-20 all-time record against Texas Tech and is 11-13 in the series in Lubbock. OU swept the season series last year, winning 81-63 at home and 86-71 on the road (the victory in Lubbock snapped a three-game losing streak there).

PREVIEWING TEXAS TECH
Texas Tech enters Saturday’s game at 10-9 overall and in eighth place in the Big 12 at 2-4. The Red Raiders have won two of their last three games (82-72 over then-No. 12 Baylor and 60-49 at TCU). They are 8-3 at home with their losses coming to LSU (71-69), Iowa State (73-62) and West Virginia (89-86 in overtime). In conference play, Tech ranks eighth in scoring (72.5 ppg), fourth in scoring defense (72.8 ppg), second in field goal percentage (.467), third in 3-point field goal percentage (.394) and second in free throw percentage (.769).

On the season, senior forward Jaye Crockett leads the team with his 14.3 points and ranks second with his 6.4 boards a contest while shooting .562 from the field. In Big 12 play he is averaging team highs of 15.8 points and 6.8 boards. Junior forward Jordan Tolbert averages 11.9 points and a team-high 6.5 rebounds on the year while shooting a team-best .584 from the floor. Junior guard Robert Turner is averaging 10.2 points and a team-high 2.9 steals an outing, while sophomore guard Dusty Hannahs contributes 8.9 points a game. Hannahs is coming off a 7-for-7 performance from 3-point range at West Virginia on Wednesday (finished with 25 points, six assists and no turnovers in 33 minutes off the bench). The 3-point effort set a Big 12 record for most makes without a miss.

Tubby Smith is in his first year as Texas Tech’s head coach. Formerly the head coach at Tulsa, Georgia, Kentucky (1998 NCAA champion) and Minnesota, he owns a 521-235 (.689) career mark.

Tech is giving away a free beer to any student who comes to the game wearing a suit and sneakers.

All right, let's get a road win to head into Big Monday!

Re: OU-Texas Tech Pregame Notes | SoonerSports.com

Not a terrible start, but it would be 9-0 us if we just rebounded the ball.
Need to get that cleaned up.

Re: OU-Texas Tech Pregame Notes | SoonerSports.com

Maybe we are becoming a team to must see on the road, but even Texas Tech has a better home crowd than us... Key to get off to a fast start, 9-7 good guys at first media TO

Good start for Clark.
Usually means good things.

Re: OU-Texas Tech Pregame Notes | SoonerSports.com

Up 8 at the under 12. I think we just need to not give up second chance points and we should be fine. They seem to be good at getting in the right spot to get offensive rebounds.

For those who do not have ESPN3, we have caused like 3 or 4 Turnovers on the trap, and have scored on them...

Outside shots are falling at a good rate, and Bennett had his best outside shot of the season. Smooth.

Good start for the good guys.

Woodard and Clark playing very well.

Re: OU-Texas Tech Pregame Notes | SoonerSports.com

Finish this half! Let's go!

Re: OU-Texas Tech Pregame Notes | SoonerSports.com

Tech has gone to zone to try and slow us down.

Need to work what we learned against Baylor and put our foot down.

Re: OU-Texas Tech Pregame Notes | SoonerSports.com

Booker way off today, but we are getting good looks against the zone.
Need to clean things up and make sure this is double digits at the half.

We have got to hang out to the 10 point edge until halftime.
