#9 OU @ #3 KU 1pm CST on ESPN+

OU was never going to be the best team in the conference. 13-3, and 1-2 in is fine right now. They've got a chance to get back on track. It's a marathon not a sprint. I don't think it's fair at all to start dogging on the coaching staff because nobody on this board thought OU would be where they are at coming into this season.
Okay but when you look at the actual games against good teams, we make dumb plays, turn the ball over, and have terrible defensive lapses. Thats coaching.

That interaction between Cooper and Self shaking hands....👀 I'm not saying...just saying...

We go as our bench goes. When Soares and Darthard play like ass, the rest of the team plays like ass. Hugely gave us nothing today either. That’s really the story. Starters were good enough
This. Anytime you bring dudes from lesser competition into the Big 12 it's a risk.

But Darthard was the reason they beat ISU so there's still hope.

Cooper has to be gone after this season? Moser has really screwed this one up. Why would be stay?

Not always. Basketball is just so nuanced. If they look like this against WVU and Cincinatti then I will start to question the coaching.
Basketball IS nuanced but there are some things that should be a given no matter who you’re playing IF you’re well-coached. Like playing smart, being strong with the ball and playing good defense.

Is he stupidly redshirting him??? I don’t get it
Why would anyone redshirt? Every college basketball player will xfer at least 3 times in their 4 years. All he is doing is saving a year for what school he’s at in 3 years. This isn’t 90s College Basketball.

I completely agree

I see your point, and you very well may be right. Overall, defensively, they've been fine. The turnovers are by far the biggest issue. But I'm not sure what the coaching staff can do. I ASSUME they talk about. I ASSUME they watch film. I ASSUME they do ball drills. But these are dudes that have played hundreds of hours of basketball. Taking care of the ball should be something they already value.

On the flip side, I think Lon's team the last year he was at OU had one of the lowest TO rates in the country. Which was awesome. Is it because Lon knows something about basketball that Moser doesn't? Maybe like a super special anti-turnover drill that only a select few coaches know? Or was it because that team, especially the guards, were bought in to taking care of the ball and made it a personal responsibility? I think I'll take the latter.

If there's one thing we OU fans need to agree on is to not speculate about who will stay and who will enter the transfer portal. Wasn't Dickinson like a stud big man at Purdue last year? JM had an awesome year last year at Siena and played a tonne. These kids enter the transfer portal on a whim, and it can be for SO MANY reasons. NIL, playing time, "not a good fit," want to be closer to home, etc. Each player, regardless of playing time, has to be re-recruited each year and it's a literal coin-toss as whether they'll leave or not.

Look what happened to that really good freshman offensive lineman on the football team. He was on a path to be an OU great. He played a bunch towards the end of the year and then *poof* gone.

Who knows whether Cooper will leave or stay but it's not worth even discussing it rn.

Plus, another bad season and it could be Moser's last at OU. I'm going to guess he's putting in the dudes who give OU the best chance to win. Cooper may just not be ready for Big 12 play at the moment.

I turned the game off. Why is everyone saying Cooper is now going to leave. What in the heck did I miss?
