OU @ #6 ISU 7pm CST on ESPN+

Just give PM another four or five years till he gets his guys in place and can really run his system. By then, we will easily get to 46 points in games like this.
On a serious note. If Moser's system of offense relies heavily on guys "hitting shots" then why the hell didn't he recruit a bunch of sharpshooters? Become BYU lite. Just get a bunch of dudes who can play defense, have high basketball IQs and can shoot lights out. Why spend all the NIL money on athletes who do not fit your system? I mean fans were obviously happy with the athleticism but it means anything when they can't utilize their strengths.

I don't know squat about basketball compared to college coaches, but I'm not going to sit here and act like basketball is this uber complicated game. It's not. You either get dues to fit what you want to run or adapt your offense to the guys you got. This OU team is and will never be a great shooting team. And it seems like every loss boils down to: "Just gotta hit shots." But that's not going to happen with this squad. The winning formula for this team is different.

I honestly have no idea what system he wants/is trying to run. What he does in games is nothing like what he claims he wants to run. He runs his mouth about pushing pace and how this year’s team had the personnel to do that, but he makes no effort to create turnovers and get out and run. Every halfcourt possession is a series of ball screens while one of our guards dribbles the air out of the ball. Rather than trying to score before ISU could clamp down in the halfcourt, we just played into their hands by dribbling around aimlessly while the shot clock drained.

I’ve said this many times: three years into his glorious tenure, I have absolutely no idea what identity he is trying for. After another exodus this offseason, I’m sure it’ll be another random group of transfers, and he will hype them up just like he did this year’s newcomers.

Imo the winning formula is getting 2x more movement on offense and creating more layup opportunities (i know, i know, we suck at layups anyway). We have to create much easier looks. Then when we attack inside with better/more cheapees, we can look to kick more for even more wide open 3s.

Dribbling 25 feet from the bucket until 15 secs on the clock and/or with 2 passes with players that dribble going nowhere, does not make a defense move and we get really tough shots.

(Also, every time northweather dribbles once and picks up the basketball, i would pull him and sit him)

In this hypothetical offense, why would defenses not pack the paint to begin with the same as they're doing now? What does more ball movement get you if every action is switched?

Used to be a more dedicated fan. Alum of the school. Have lived in Norman almost 25 years. One kid graduated from OU, other attending now.

Almost every time I turn on an OU basketball game last 5ish years, I'm embarrassed how poor the product is, and I turn it off. Rarely attend games anymore. 45 points for a full regulation game is pretty impressively bad.

Simply stated, it's a bad product. The mostly casuals like me have lost complete interest. Might turn a game on during the big 12 tourney.

Like the new site. Kudos.
Cool bro!

Good grief, was the offense terrible. We held the opposing team to 33% shooting and lost decisively.

45 freaking points.

Great win, then lay an egg. Rinse and repeat. Ad nauseam. I'll keep watching but my focus is on women's hoops and softball going forward. Anything these guys achieve will just be a bonus, but I'm counting on nothing. So disheartening. How anyone can see what Coach Baranczyk has accomplished and still defend Coach Moser, I can't fathom.
I understand the feeling of disappointment but your last statement is bizarre

There’s no shame in losing to Iowa state on the road. The shame is playing so horrible on offense. ISU is a great defensive team but that doesn’t excuse our ineptitude on offense. Our offense is broken and flat out terrible.
It’s only broken because we can’t shoot

it will be nice not seeing you through the non conference

Last week you were complaining that we gave up too many points in losses. Here you go...ISU only scored 58.

Just know that I’ll be silently enjoying all the brilliant analysis. I’m sure it’ll give me a good preview of the 2025 draft as you debate whether we have two or three NBA players.

They’re atrocious for the offense that they are in. And that’s on Moser for recruiting them.
Lol ok. There’s o my so much you can do with guards that literally can’t hit layups or are Terrible shooters

Yeah he recruited them

Please list one time I said we had an nba player on the roster

Well “movement” can mean a lot of things. Not just ball movement. Obviously you just can’t pass around the perimeter because the defense will pack it in. But, I would rather have guys passing the ball around the perimeter than just one guy dribbling around for forever.

There should also be some off the ball movement like screens, cutting, curling, etc. any movement makes the defense think and have to defend something. But too many times OU’s offense is one guy dribble around and everybody watches.

The answer isn’t necessarily easy but let’s not pretend like it’s trigonometry. Moser has enough knowledge, resources and gets paid enough to figure it out. But he’s proving incapable.

Lol do you even watch the games?

We have some absolutely idiotic and trrrible fans

I’m pretty sure I’m done with this. Oars for awhile
