Conferences can stop it. The SEC doesn't allow intra-conference transfers without sitting out a year. Once the SEC and Big 10 expand and pull away from the NCAA (may just be football, who knows), they will have rules like that again.

I just think the horse is out of the barn. If anything, the restrictions are going to become fewer and fewer, not the other way around.

Once the break away happens, we will be in a whole new league. I would bet there will be restrictions on transferring because players will likely be under contract. Of course, college sports will be dead but our minor league team might actually win something. Idk

this is not a thing .. sec doesn't allow after spring transfers in football with out sitting a year .. mid year transfers have no restriction ..

and basketball have no restriction in the spring

Just wait. When the SEC/Big 10 break away, they are going to put some rules in place. Sankey has said as much if you read between the lines a bit.

for sure with a CBA and contracts they will put a bunch of things in place ..
